Car and Driver Says CADILLAC ELR is Worth Waiting For

Have you heard about the new CADILLAC ELR? The luxury auto brand's upcoming electric vehicle is spreading excitement about its arrival. In fact, even famed publication Car and Driver has taken a special interest in the vehicle, as it recently named the CADILLAC ELR one of the "25 Cars Worth Waiting For."

When describing the luxurious new ride, Car and Driver states, "(The ELR) will seem right at home in [CADILLAC] showrooms, channeling both the gorgeous CTS coupe and the buttoned-down ATS sedan. Sporty proportions and 20-inch wheels hint at improvements to the Volt's chassis. These include swapping in GM's HiPer anti-torque-steer front struts, adding a Watt's link to the torsion-beam rear suspension, and fitting computer-controlled adaptive dampers."1

Though CADILLAC recently stated that the ELR would be a "limited run" extended range vehicle, we can't help but crave the exclusive vehicle, which will be one of the most unique plug-in vehicles on the road thanks to its incredible styling and amazing performance enhancements.

The new plug-in stays rather true to the CADILLAC Converj concept we saw at the 2009 NAIAS show in Detroit, and though it shares a platform with the Chevy Volt, it differentiates itself very well.

Production of the new vehicle will begin in fall of this year, with the first deliveries starting in early 2014. It will be available at select CADILLAC dealerships, so be sure to stay tuned here with Stephen AutoMall Centre blog to learn if we will receive the new EV here in Bristol, CT early next year.
